BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MARK PRICE, brother of famous Jamaican Reggae artiste Bounty Killer, has been convicted of cell phone theft at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court.

He appeared before Her Honour Josephine Mallelieu-Webbe this morning (Jun. 29) and, according to sources, the Chief Magistrate slapped him with an EC$6 000 fine (approximately JA$259,000), half of which is to be paid as compensation to the virtual complainant in the case and the other half to the State.

On Saturday (Jun. 27), Price, along with his brother and entourage, was at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport waiting to leave the country when he pilfered the cellular phone of a customer service representative which was left on a counter.

A report carried by WINN FM informed that when it was realised that the phone was missing, efforts to locate it was made and after those were unsuccessful surveillance footage was reviewed and Price was seen removing the phone from where the owner had left it.

The report also indicated that Price was approached by the police and the cell phone was found in his possession, after which he was arrested.

SKNVibes understands that Price was convicted by confession, having pleaded guilty to the charge.

The sum, this publication understands, has to be paid forthwith and failing to do so he would have to serve time at Her Majesty’s Prison.

SKNVibes was reliably informed that the phone Price pilfered was a Blackberry.
