Prime Minister Dr. the. Hon. Timothy Harris left London today for St. Kitts and Nevis after a ?hectic yet highly productive week of engagements in London.

Dr. Harris met with St. Kitts and ?Nevis nationals the day he arrived in London. He later held discussions with members of the UK House of Lords, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the private sector, the media, delivered a speech on the Government's reform of the Citizenship-by-Investment (CBI) programme and toured the Imperial College Institute of Global Health.

When asked to describe his visit, Dr Harris said, "this was a very successful visit. It allowed me the opportunity to interact with partners of St. Kitts and Nevis, to listen to them and to share with them the vision, policies and priorities of my Team Unity Administration. I am leaving London with a better appreciation of the sentiments and expectations of our people in the Diaspora, of the concerns and interests of our bilateral partner, the UK, as well as those of the business community. By the same token, I am confident that they too have a much better understanding of the direction in which the Federation is heading, my government's commitment to transparency, people-centered development, good governance, and our ‘prosperity for all’ agenda.”

Prime Minister Harris stated further, "going forward we will use the information gathered during my five-day working visit to improve interaction with the diaspora and to sharpen my Team-Unity Administration's collaboration with bilateral partners. In addition, it will be instructive in helping us to work even harder to continue to enhance the management, security firewalls and oversight of the Federation's CBI program. We shall remain steadfast in our pledge to create a more enabling environment for local and foreign business development and socioeconomic transformation throughout the Federation."

Dr. Harris spoke of the fond memories he will be taking back to St. Kitts and Nevis and of the wonderful people with whom he met and the possibilities for improved partnerships. “I look forward to returning to London to strengthen these partnerships we have forged”, he said.
