Tuesday, July 21 – Ferry passengers travelling via the West End Ferry Terminal are now benefiting from recent renovations to the facility.

The works began in February with a view to create an enhanced guest experience and efficient operational flow at the West End Ferry Terminal.

The main scope of the works involved the repositioning of the ferry customer service counters which are now outside the terminal building and facing the main road. A departure hall was created past the new security checkpoint for patrons who have already purchased tickets and screened by security and additional seating was placed in the drop-off area.

Additionally, the BVIPA installed a covering over the waiting area for patrons travelling to and from Jost Van Dyke.

In a previous release, BVIPA’s Deputy Managing Director Mr. Al Henley said moving the counters was necessary to prevent congestion caused by the mixture of patrons entering the terminal to purchase tickets and those waiting in line to clear security.

Commenting on the guest experience since the renovations, Mr. Henley said, “We have met our overall objective to create a safer, more comfortable, functional environment for both Virgin Islands residents and visitors.”

Mr. Henley further commented, “The recent works are also a temporary solution until the BVIPA moves to establish the new West End Ferry terminal.”
