BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONE of the nation’s top sprinter, Antoine Adams, has provided the twin-island Federation with its third Pan Am Games medal when he captured bronze in the 100m Finals last evening (Jul. 22) in Toronto, Canada.
Running out of lane three, although the former 100m National Champion had a strong finish in the race, he was unable to surpass Canadian Andre Degrasse who took the top spot in 10.06 seconds and Barbadian Ramonits Gittens who capturing the silver medal.
Adams finished in a time of 10.09 seconds to give St. Kitts and Nevis its third medal at those games after Kim Collins and the Men’s 4x100m Relay team both won silver in 2011.
Adams, in two days’ time, will be competing in his stronger event, the 200 metres.
Brijesh Lawrence also competed in the 100m but failed to make the second round like Maricia Pemberton and Shenel Crooke, who participated in the Female 100m event.
