Gunmen rob Food Centre

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A couple of audacious individuals executed their enterprise at the Food Centre, Buckley's yesterday afternoon (Jul. 24), entering the establishment and robbing it of a sum of money.

     

    A press release issued by the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David informs that the incident occurred sometime around 4:30 p.m.

     

    Initial reports reaching SKNVibes suggested that three individuals committed the act but according to the police communique, the two men, who were masked, armed and bedecked in black clothing, “entered the business establishment and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed sum of money.”

     

    The communique further indicated that during the incident, one of the wholesale business’ employees was robbed of their cellphone.

     

    They reportedly made good their escape by “running north of the premises through Buckley’s Estate after committing the robbery”.

     

    Several units attended to the scene following the incident to secure it and conduct investigations. According to the police, these units were the Police K9 Unit, the Criminal Investigations Department, the Forensic Services Unit, the Special Services Unit and the K9 Unit of the Ross Veterinary School.

     

    “Anyone who has information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact the CID at 465-2241 ext. 220, 230, or, 236, the nearest police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). Remember, you do not have to provide your personal information and you may be eligible to receive a reward.”
