BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE weekend has already proven to be a bloody one with a number of violent incidents occurring, leaving some individuals hospitalized with serious and other injuries.

One of these incidents occurred over The Strip during the early-morning hours of today (Jul. 25) and while details are sketchy, SKNVibes understands that an altercation transpired among some individuals and it ended with at least two persons being seriously injured.

This publication made several attempts to contact the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David concerning this and other incidents but they were futile.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd however, confirmed that “a sharp cutting object” was used in the incident and at least two men had to be hospitalized as a result.

SKNVibes understands that one of the individuals sustained a large ghastly wound to his head, while the other suffered a deep laceration to one of his arms.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that both had to undergo surgery and are currently warded at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

The Acting COP said a suspect is being sought in relation to that incident.

This publication understands that a male was stabbed while at a promotional event on Central Street yesterday afternoon (Jul. 24). He was reportedly taken from the scene via the Emergency Medical Services and transported to the hospital.

Liburd also conformed to this media house that at 12:45 p.m. today, a male was stabbed while on Fort Street. He said he was not in a position to indicate what injuries the victim sustained and to which parts of his body.

He indicated however, that the incident occurred along the portion of Fort Street that lies between Central Street and the Circus.

A suspect is being sought in relation to this incident, the Acting COP advised.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd said all incidents are actively being investigated.
