Official Visit ot Strengthen Ties with Taiwan

PM Harris is expected to visit Taipei 101, which at more than 1,600 ft is one of the tallest buildings in the world

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2015 (SKNIS): Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris is currently in the Republic of China (Taiwan) on a five-day official visit that is expected to strengthen the ties between the two countries. 

     

    While there, Prime Minister Harris who is leading a delegation, will meet with President Ma Ying-jeou, Minister of Foreign Affairs David Lin and other senior officials, the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.  He is also scheduled to visit economic and cultural facilities such as Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Keelung, the same source revealed.
     
    The leader of the Federation’s itinerary further includes a visit to the St. Kitts and Nevis Mission in Taiwan.  He will also meet with nationals currently studying in the Republic in order to update them on current matters in the Federation and hear of their achievements while undertaking their academic pursuits.
     
    The visit is expected to strengthen the mutually beneficial bilateral ties that already exist between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan.  Diplomatic relations were first established between the two nations in 1983 following the political Independence of St. Kitts and Nevis.
