August 19th, 2015 -- 6’-7” SKNABA Player Dane Rawlins continues to impress International Scouts as well as Teams in the European Leagues and the NBA.

The SKNABA stand-out was recently identified as one of the top players in the annual Las Vegas Global Basketball Summer League. Rawlins again impressed at this his 3rd appearance and participation in the annual event.  Dane was selected to the league’s ALL Star Team.

Global Basketball described  Rawlins as “a next level athlete with some quality basketball skills. He creates off the dribble and finishes extremely well. He is built like a NBA athlete and plays above the rim. He has the ability to play multiple positions due to his all around skill set. Dane is from St. Kitts and would be a big time asset to European (Italy & Spain) teams requiring a player, that is a big time athlete. He has overseas experience in the Mongolian Basketball Association where he was a league all star. He played extremely well at the GBSL Las Vegas event and was super efficient and unstoppable.  Dane has a nice mid range jump shot and operates out of the triple threat like a true professional.”

In 2013 Rawlins became the first SKNABA Player in at least 2 decades to play Basketball at the Pro Level when he was picked up by the Tampa Bay Rain and then subsequently  in the Mongolion Pro League with the Super League Team Tanan.

President of the SKNABA Mr. Kenroy Tobias expressed pride on behalf of the association in the tremendous success of Dane.

“I am indeed proud of the accomplishments of Dane thus far in his Basketball Career. His talent was evident from  the very first time he made his presence at the SKNABA Junior Level. SKNABA has watched Dane grow into one of the best basketballers in the Caribbean and the world.

SKNABA will continue to conduct summer camps and annual basketball leagues to ensure that there are many more Dane’s in the future.  Our summer camp this year has drawn over 100 kids and I am confident that there are many danes among those enthusiastic children that I’ve seen over the last 2 weeks,” said President Tobias.

The SKNABA is currently in the middle of a hugely successful Sumer Basketbal Camp Programme which is in its 4th year and is the only Basketball Summer Camp in the federation for 2015.

Dane played in the SKNABA Finals in 2014 with the Bird Rock Uprisers and played for many years with his hometown team the Conaree Fireballs.
