Jeep ends in drain during passage of Hurricane Erika

By: Amanda Payne, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS a result of the strong winds and heavy downpour of rain during the passage of Hurricane Erika, a jeep was seen Thursday evening (Aug. 27) laying on its right side in a drain along the Bypass Road that leads to the Caribbean Cinema.

Reports reaching SKNVibes indicated that during the passage of Hurricane Erika the driver lost control of the jeep on the wet roadway.

A female resident in the area told this media house that while in her house she heard a an unusual sound, which was later identified as that of the jeep when it entered the drain.

“I heard the boom, it was not that loud but it caught my attention and because of the weather I was careful not to go outside. I just stayed from my window and looked out and all I saw was the blinking back lights in the drain. So my son went out on the verandah to see what was happening,” said one female resident.

This media house is unaware of any injuries sustained by the occupants of the jeep.
