September 23rd, 2015 -- The Alzheimer’s Association of St. Kitts and Nevis joined with eighty three other Alzheimer’s Associations worldwide on September 21, World Alzheimer’s Day to commemorate the day. Our event in St. Kitts took the form of a Seminar. The event was held at the Girl Guide Head Quarters, Taylor’s Range.

The speakers at the seminar were Dr. Samuel Rawlins and Mrs Margaret Hodge who had both recently attended an Alzheimer’s training programme at the Alzheimer’s University (London, England) .  They reported on aspects of their recent training. The Alzheimer’s University is the “training arm” of Alzheimer’s disease International (ADI).

Two other speakers were Mrs Patricia Johnson, Care Supervisor of the Grange Health Facility and Dr. Joan Rawlins, President of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Feature Speaker of the day was Dr Eileen Maclachlan-Moore a local General Practitioner.

The event was well attended and the participants were most appreciative of the information which was shared.

Following the formalities of the seminar, the participants were treated to a sumptuous lunch, compliments of Mrs Patricia Richards - Leader of the Grange.

The Association takes this opportunity to further inform the public that the TEA PARTY previously scheduled for Saturday September 26 has been postponed.
