BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN “extra bounce” was all it took to alert Rosemary Hodge-Rogers to the fact that she had been named Kajola Krista’s August 2015 Employee of the Month (EoM).
Just days ago, the regular spectacle took place where members of the Employee of the Month Committee took to the factory floor with makeshift instruments to inform the staff that the EoM was selected.
And around they went but, before the official announcement was made, that extra burst of enthusiasm let the cat out of the bag.
“They went around twice, but I had a feeling it was going to be me. When the Human Resource Manager thought they had already stopped by my station, she gave an extra bounce. She eventually went on with the song and dance but I knew from that little moment, from that extra bounce, that it was me,” Hodge-Rogers told SKNVibes.
And as she had rightly predicted, the trail of jubilation ended at her work station on the SMT Line.
An employee of Kajola Kristada for some 12 years, Hodge-Rogers has been a member of the SMT team for the past 10 years and both her Supervisor Valarie Adams and Assistant Supervisor Juliana Griffin described her as an efficient, quality-driven worker.
“Her performance is marvelous. We can depend on her. She is one of the best testers we ever had. Congratulations to Mrs. Rosemary Hodge-Rogers on her big achievement of becoming Employee of the Month,” Griffin expressed.
“She is very outstanding on the hand-checking operation. I know for sure I can depend on her to complete the task of two operators. She alone would complete the task of two operators…that’s how fast she is. And she does her work properly. She is really good in that operation. From your Supervisor and the other employees of SMT, we want to congratulate you on becoming the Employee of the Month for August and you can do it again next year. So please continue doing what you are doing,” Adams said.
Hodge-Rogers, whom SKNVibes found to be a sassy, fun-loving lady, said she felt “wonderful to know that I won the award. I think it was my time and I can win it again and I will”.
She said she had already informed her three adult children of her achievement, one of whom assisted her in ensuring that she was fully prepared to face the cameras today (Sept. 25).
