October 12th, 2015 -- October is internationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Reach for Recovery SKB Breast Cancer Support Group is making strides towards making a greater impact in St. Kitts and Nevis this month with a special activities including the Free Breast Examination and Education Initiative - “PINK ZONE”.
This year, Volunteer Medical Students from the Windsor University School of Medicine, collaboratively with doctors and other medical professionals in the federation will be at the LIME Flagship Store, on Cayon Street, Basseterre; Monday to Friday from 12pm-4pm, for PINK ZONE.
PINK ZONE is a major part of the awareness campaign where the group gives information to the general public during breast cancer awareness month. Reach for Recovery SKB will also provide Breast Self-Examinations and demonstrations to persons who participate.
From PINK ZONE they usually give vouchers for Free Mammograms if anomalies are detected from the persons examined. There will also be a number of pamphlets and information packages available and opportunities to donate or buy breast cancer awareness pins and other paraphernalia.
