BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (October 19, 2015) – Jarvid Percival of Strivers did not take any chances with the ball, nor with his marauding brothers-in-law, twins Joshio ‘Biggie’ and James ‘Smallie’ Morton of Ottleys. His wife - their sister - was sitting on the players’ bench reserved for Strivers players, and he knew she and his daughter - their niece - were rooting for Strivers Basketball Club.

It was certainly the game to watch Saturday evening October 17, when defending champion Strivers Basketball Club in the recently renamed Harris Basketball League faced Ottleys Ballers in the first of two games for the evening, and game seven for the season, on the newly refurbished Molineux Hard Court. Strivers won 67-60.

The lanky Ottleys player Joshio ‘Biggie’ Morton, who stands at 6’ 8” and the only player to have scored a dunk shot in this season, tried to change the game by using his height advantage to thwart Strivers players. At the end of the first quarter, Strivers led by 13-10.

It appeared as if Strivers were titling under the twin attacks of Biggie, Leandro Mills who were able to reduce the deficit by half time as Ottleys were only one point behind at 25-26. At the end of the third quarter Strivers led by 46-43 while at the end of the game they had surged ahead to cushion themselves with a 67-60 win.

In the second game of the same evening (Saturday October 17) and the eighth game in the season, Fair Share overcame an early deficit to beat Free Up in a game that was refereed by Nigel Burroughs and Ian Liburd. Fair Share trailed 18-22 at the end of the first quarter and 39-42 at half time.

They however turned around the tables and snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat when at the end of the third quarter they led by a ten-point margin, 67-57 and at the end of the fourth quarter they comfortably led 83-71. What a game - they snatched their fair share!
