BASSETERRE (29th October, 2015):  Today St. Kitts Welcomed Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas and Celebrity Summit.

The three cruise vessels combined brought approximately 9000 passengers to our shores. The guests of Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas docked at Port Zante and the guests of the Celebrity Summit, docked at the Deep Water Port, were welcomed by melodious steel pan music and a Kaleidoscope of art and craft.

Craft Vendors displayed authentic Kittitian craft as part of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) initiatives this season to improve the guest experience at the Deep Water Port.

SCASPA also made significant improvements to the landscape of the dispatch area which provided visitors with a pleasant and safe experience.

Since October 1st 2015, the beginning of the cruise season, St. Kitts has welcomed 24 Cruise vessels, bringing approximately 62,000 passengers to our shores.

Minister of Tourism, International Trade, Industry & Commerce, The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant, is pleased about our cruise arrivals to date and encourages all nationals directly or indirectly involved in Tourism to continue to share our hospitality and friendliness to all visitors.

“I encourage our nationals to continue their efforts to exceed the guest expectations so that they are able to continue to benefit from Cruise Tourism for this season and beyond.  We are looking forward to exceeding 1 million cruise visitors this season”.
