Inspections And Food Handler Sessions To Be Conducted On Anegada

    BVI, 6 November 2015 - The Environmental Health Division will be visiting the island of Anegada on November 09, 11 and 13 to conduct food premises inspection and food handler sessions in preparation for Lobster Fest 2015.

     

    Acting Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mrs. Yolanda Penn said that owners of premises are to correct all outstanding violations from the previous inspection to ensure compliance and the ability to operate during the activities.

    Food handler’s educational sessions will be held on Wednesday November 11, at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

    All food handlers are required to attend one of the sessions to renew their expired permits and/or to acquire new certificates.

    Persons renewing their food handler’s certificates are asked to bring their expired documents, social security card, work permit and/or picture identification.

    Persons seeking to obtain a food handler’s certificate for the first time are to present the result of their Mantoux (skin) and stool tests, work permit and/or picture identification, social security card and one recent passport size photograph.

    New food handlers who do not possess the prerequisite requirements at the time of the session are also required to conduct the Mantoux (skin) and stool tests and attend the food handler’s sessions on Thursday, November 26 on Tortola to provide results.
