Loud screams foil kidnap attempt of schoolgirl

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A sinister attempt, as it appeared, to kidnap a schoolchild on Friday (Nov. 20) was foiled, thanks to the loud screams of individuals who witnessed the incident.

SKNVibes was reliably informed that a student of Washington Archibald High was on her way to school, journeying there on foot, when a vehicle pulled up beside her and an individual pulled her into it.

This publication understands that an individual or individuals who witnessed what was taking place raised an alarm by screaming and making other noises which resulted in the assailant(s) ejecting the young girl from the vehicle before speeding away from the scene.

It is understood that she was virtually unharmed but may have been traumatised by the ordeal.

According to information received by this media house, following the incident students of the Washington Archibald High School were advised that whenever waking to or from school, they should do so in small or large groups.

SKNVibes spoke with Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley who advised that he was aware that an incident of that nature had taken place but informed he did not have the details.

He subsequently indicated that information would be provided via press release, but since then it has not yet been received by this media house.
