Man gunned down on King Street

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation recorded its 27th homicide this evening (Nov. 29) when a young man was gunned down in cold blood while at King Street, near the Basseterre Police Station.

    The incident is believed to have taken place shortly after 10:00 p.m. and when SKNVibes visited the scene a crowd had gathered at Baker’s Corner on the opposite side of the road on which the young man’s body rested.

    A vehicle of the Emergency Medical Services and a number of police officers were observed at the scene, as well as District Medical Officer Mervin Laws, whom SKNVibes understands pronounced the young man dead.

    SKNVibes made a number of attempts to contact Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley to get further information on the incident, but the calls went unanswered.

    Investigations are ongoing and when further information becomes available it will be disseminated via a subsequent publication.

    Persons having information relative to this case are asked to contact the nearest police station or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
