Sunday 27th, December, 2015 (St. Kitts & Nevis) – Congratulations are in order for the newly crowned Miss National Carnival FLOW Talented Queen, Kadeema Blanchette of the Basseterre Senior High School and Tiandra ‘Singing Sensation’ Francis as National Carnival Teenage Calypso Monarch.
With an estimated audience of over 1000, the joint event took place last evening (26th December) at the Sugar Mill, Port Zante.
The Talented Teens began the night with the non-judged opening fanfare segment followed by the Ambassadorial Speech. Three of the eleven teenage calypsonians then performed their renditions with hopes to secure thecoveted title.
In addition to the Ambassadorial Speech, the Talented Teens were also judged on Ambassadorial Wear, Performing Talent, Formal Teenage Wear and Onstage Interview. As the show progressed from one event to the other, the remaining Teenage
Calypsonians, took to the stage in between segmentsof the Talented Teen competition. At the end of the much contested show, the officialresults audited by Grant Thornton

Edging out her competitors with 379 points, Miss Basseterre High School Kadeema Blanchette won the segments of Ambassadorial Speech (65 points), Ambassadorial Wear (42.5 points), Teenage Wear (64.5 points) and Onstage Interview (84.5 points). Miss Verchilds High School, Janika Francis was adjudged First Runner-up with 340.5 points and also secured best performing talent with (130 points).
In her performing talent, Jahnika brought to light a deadly venom affecting our youth in the form of child molestation. The talent showcased the silence Jahnika found herself in when she was a victim of child molestation by her own father. She felt alone in this ordeal and didn’t know who to trust anymore. In the end, Miss Francisurged every young person who is facing this situation to break the silence and speak out against child molestation. Thalia Wigley, Miss Charles E. Mills took the Second Runner-up position, totaling points of 339.
Meanwhile, Tiandra ‘Singing Sensation’ Francis captivated the judges and the crowd with a spectacular performance singing ‘Bullying’. Her song depicted the struggles and heart-wrench pain individuals experience as victimsof bullying. The National Carnival
Teenage Monarch won with a total of 248.
First runner-up with 246 points was Shamari ‘MightySookie’ Mitchell singing – United We Stand, second runner-up with 227 points was Devaughn ‘Duke Devaughn’ Browne with his rendition of Too Sexy and Third runner-up with 225 points was T’quan ‘Mighty T’ McDowell who performed his title song, Time to Stand Up.
Other awards presented during the coronation were Chairperson Award, won by Miss Verchilds High Janika Francis and the Chaperon Award was gracefully accepted by Tressa Wyatt.
The Basseterre High School also won the School Spirit Award, which was judged throughout the show by cheering the loudest for theindividual schools when their school name was announced by the master of ceremonies, Johan Kelly and Unoma Allen.
