(Basseterre, January 26, 2016) - Following the dramatic launch of the centenary celebrations of the birth of the Right Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, NH at Palm Courts, Basseterre, on January 15th, 2016 - an event which attracted a broad cross-section of some 600-plus Nationals, the Celebrations Committee will on January 28, 2016 hold the first of a multi-faceted series of literary events at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium of the ECCB at 8:00 pm.
This opening lecture will be delivered by accomplished son-of-the-soil, Dr. Simon Jones Hendrickson, Chief Economist and Fiscal Policy Advisor in the Government of the United States Virgin Islands and will build on the tremendous momentum generated by the January 15thlaunch.
The launch, attended by Governor General, His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton and former Governors-General of the Federation, His Excellency Sir Cuthbert Sebastian and His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence and Lady Lawrence underscored the high esteem in which the Right Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw was held, and continues to be held, not only within the Federation but throughout the region, as well.
All Nationals, including primary, secondary, and college students, are invited to attend this January 26th lecture – the first in a series reflecting on the life and impact of the Federation’s First National Hero. The year-long celebrations will, appropriately, will culminate with the establishment of the R.L. Bradshaw Institute of Government and Politics.
The lecture begins at 8.00 p.m. sharp, and all are asked to be seated by 7:50 p.m.
