BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH assistance from the public, police were able to bring a closure to the Lime Kiln shooting incident which has left 20-year-old Cameron Liburd Jr. hospitalised.
A police statement said that Phoenix Grant Ryhs Southwell of Johnson Street, Fortlands was arrested and charged yesterday (Jan. 27) with the attempted of murder Liburd.
The incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 24) in Lime Kiln while Cameron was reportedly leaving his father’s home for his mother’s when an assailant approached and fired a number of shots in his direction.
He was struck multiple times and was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.
According to the police press release, Head of the Violent Crimes Unit, Detective Superintendent Andre Mitchell is thanking the public for providing information that helped with the arrest and subsequent attempted murder charge preferred against Southwell.
He is also encouraging a continued partnership between the public and the police as the lawmen continue to focus on citizen safety in the Federation.
