Basseterre, SKN (Jan 28, 2016) -- A four-person delegation recently arrived in Ocho Rios to represent the Federation in the Women’s Beach Volleyball 2nd round North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Continental Cup from January 29 to January 31 2016.
Genelle Lake, Michelle Demming, Brenda Allen and Shanicia Dyer will be competing against delegations from host country Jamaica, St Lucia, Antigua, French St. Martin, Dominica, Grenada, Cayman Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Surinam and US Virgin Islands. The event takes place on Ocho Rios Bay Beach daily from 9 am.
This (NORCECA) Continental Cup competition is the second of four rounds and serves as a qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The twelve competing teams combined are the top six teams from the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) and the Eastern Caribbean (Zonal) Volleyball Association (ECVA). The top eight teams of this round are expected to advance to round three of the competition. St. Kitts and Nevis is currently ranked 4th in the ECVA.
On behalf of the St. Kitts Amateur Volleyball Association, President, Mr Glenn A Quinlan commended the Women Beach Volleyball delegation on their success thus far.
