Police Press Release 29-01-2016: Report of arrest and convictions

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 29, 2016 (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Convictions, Arrest and Other Activities from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. 

     

    CONVICTIONS.
     
    Malvern Walwyn of Hard times Gingerland appeared  on January  26, 2016,  before The Learned  Magistrate Her  Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke on a charge of  larceny.  He was found guilty and sentenced one(1) month imprisonment for larceny.
     
    Trevor Hector of Fenton Hill Gingerland appeared on January 26, 2016,   before The Learned  Magistrate Her  Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke on a charge of  larceny.  He was found guilty was sentenced three (3) months imprisonment for Larceny.
     
    Tivaughn Bradshaw of Butlers appeared on January 26, 2016  before The Learned Magistrate Her  Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke on the charges  of  Possession of cannabis and Possession of  with intent to supply.  He  was convicted and charged $2500.00 to be paid  in six (6) months,  default one (1) year in prison. 
     
    ARRESTS:
     
    Joseph Gichulci of Frigate bay was arrested and charged for the following  offences;  Driving without a valid and unexpired drivers license,  (2) driving without being covered by insurance policy and (3) driving under the influence of alcohol. Charge took place on January 25, 2016.
     
    A (juvenile) was arrested and charged on January 25, 2016 for offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. Offence took place on January 23, 2016.
     
    Kareem Powell, Dornel Bernier, Joan Powell and  James Hendrickson of Old Road were arrested and charged for possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply. They were all granted bail in the amount of $5000.00 with two (2) sureties and are required to be in court on February 01, 2016.  The incident occurred on January 27. 
    OTHER ACTIVITIES.

    Bail Granted: Steadroy Walwyn of Buckley's Site was bailed out in the sum of $20,000.00.
     
    Conditions:
     
    (1) The applicant is to surrender his St.Kitts and Nevis Passport (and other travel document in his possession) to the registrar of the high court forthwith, which is to be held pending the trial or other disposition of the matter.
     
    (2) Applicant is to report to the Basseterre Police Station three time per week that is to say, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 07:00hrs and 18:100hrs.
     
    (3) The applicant is prohibited from making any contact whatsoever with any potential witness or witnesses in the proceedings whether in person or by any agent acting on his behalf at his request or with his encouragement.
     
    (4) Any breach of the above conditions will result in the arrest of the applicant and the immediate revocation of the bail hereby granted upon the request or application of the prosecution.
     
    (5) Further this order will cause to have effect if the applicant is at anytime arrested and charged for any offence whatsoever.
     
    Traffic.
    Police responded to and investigated five (5) traffic accidents in the federation on January 28.
