Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 1, 2016) – Digicel St. Kitts-Nevis embraced a new challenge for the ‘love month’ of February with a donation of ten (10) "Share Extraordinary Love" packages to the local charity group, Whole Again Foundation. According to Digicel’s Marketing Manager, Marsha Chatterjee, “Our focus this month is challenging ourselves to show love beyond the ordinary. We encourage our customers to "Be Extraordinary" every day by giving to those around us who are in need – especially to persons who have physical challenges. We can only lead by our own example.” Therefore in keeping with its corporate mission of assisting select community-focused groups, Digicel reached out to the Whole Again Foundation.
Co-founded by Mr. Patrick Williams in 2015, the Whole Again Foundation is a non-profit, public charity that originated from the desire to aid amputees in St. Kitts and Nevis. In accepting the gift baskets, Williams, who is himself an amputee, expressed thanks to the telecommunications firm Digicel, on behalf of the Foundation and mentioned that distribution of the love packages is scheduled for Valentine’s weekend.
The Whole Again Foundation has been establishing a database of amputees in St. Kitts Nevis in need of assistance. Their mission statement is: “To empower persons affected by limb loss to achieve their full potential and independence physically, socially, financially and psychologically through advocacy, education, and network support and to promote limb loss prevention whenever possible”. Persons can register with the WAF by calling 765-WAF1 (9231) or join Digicel in making a difference in the lives of those around us. Extraordinary is all around us – Be Extraordinary.
