Two injured in gas truck/pick-up accident

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – EMERGENCY teams rushed to the scene of a three-vehicle traffic accident this morning (Feb. 6) which involved a gas delivery truck and left two individuals seeking medical attention.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. at the junction of Horsford’s Road and Wilkin Street in vicinity of the War Memorial.

SKNVibes understands that it involved C&C’s gas delivery truck – P2388 – which had several 20-pound cylinders of liquid petroleum gas on board, pick-up truck P1429 and motor car P8934.

This publication also understands that the gas truck was travelling up Wilkin Street and the pick-up was travelling from the Fisherman’s Wharf’s direction along Horsford’s Road just moments before the accident occurred.

It is further understood that the driver of the pick-up may have failed to observe the stop sign and, as a result, collided with the gas truck at the junction of both roads before running into P8934 which was parked on Wilkin Street.

Two individuals were taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital. However, SKNVibes is unaware of their condition or the extent of any injuries they might have sustained.

It was observed that police officers were at the scene conducting investigations.
