Kenneth Samuel Receives History and Heritage Award

By: Brimstonehill National Park Society, Press Release

February 12th, 2016 -- On Thursday evening 11 February at the University Open Campus, Kenneth Samuel of Kenneth’s Dive Centre was presented the History and Heritage Award for  “exceptional  contribution to the preservation and promotion of the marine heritage of St. Kitts and Nevis”.

The Award was presented on behalf of the History and Heritage Month Committee by His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton, Governor General, prior to Sir Tapley’s feature address on “Strengthening Our Commitment to Preserving Our Heritage: Our Arts, Archives and Marine Environment”.

Kenneth Samuel, a certified dive instructor since 1985, has introduced scuba diving to thousands. Intimately familiar with the offshore waters of St. Kitts, he has seen the changes over the years wrought by nature and by human actions and is a passionate advocate for the protection of the coral reefs, sea grass and the artefacts which abound on the sea bed, of St. Kitts and Nevis.
