Digicel acquires TRES Networks in Curacao

    Kingston, Jamaica – Wednesday, March 23, 2016 -- Digicel Group today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire TRES Networks in Curacao for an undisclosed sum, pending Government approval. Digicel will work with the existing management team to bring enhanced services to customers in Curacao.

     

    TRES Networks is a fixed and international long distance telecommunications operator and distributor of digital television and entertainment services. It provides residential and business customers with state-of-the-art high-speed internet, voice and digital services over the island’s first and only 100% fibre optic network. Additionally, with its all-fibre optic network, TRES networks supports Digicel’s ongoing focus on helping customers compete by delivering them the most advanced business solutions.   
     
    “TRES is pleased to have come to an agreement with Digicel Curacao - a company with a strong brand -that will not only bring a high level of expertise to the operations of TRES, but will also bring considerable market power that will enable TRES to quickly expand its network reach on the island, enhance its services and above all, reach its considerable potential,” comments Frank de Frémery, CEO of TRES Networks.
