(P.A.M COMS): March 31st, 2016 - On Saturday March 26, Hon Eugene Hamilton, Parliamentary Representative for constituency eight, presented the three (Conaree, St. Peters and Cayon) Premier Division teams from his constituency with complete training kits for twenty players. The full kit comprised jerseys, shorts and socks for over seventeen field players and three goalkeepers in each team
Hon Eugene Hamilton was first elected in 2010 and following his second election in 2015 was appointed as a Minister in the Cabinet of the Team Unity Government. Minister Hamilton took the opportunity in 2015 to approach the Italian Honorary Vice Consul Ernest Charles Ashton Amory, on the occasion of the visit of the Italian Ambassador based in Panama and invited both gentlemen to assist aspiring young and talented players form his constituency with outfits as they apply their craft.
On a subsequent trip to Italy by Minister Hamilton, in October 2015, he took the opportunity to further discuss the support for his constituency teams with officials there and was assured of the full support for three teams
Upon the attainment of the first anniversary of the Team Unity Government, the hard working Minister was able to deliver as he had anticipated.
Minister Hamilton stated that he was particularly proud of the fact that his constituency has been for several years contributing significantly to the sport of football and that he was proud to represent the majority of players in the premier division.
He further added that as a former player himself he understands all too well the constant need for quality equipment and will do all he can to make sure sports teams in his constituency are fully supported.
Minister Hamilton was a former player and member of the Cayon Team that took that team through the 1974 second division and into the premier division for over a decade.
