Cayon woman found with suspected cocaine at airport

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A female said to be from the Cayon area was taken into police custody last evening (May 1) after a whitish substance, suspected to be cocaine, was found on her person.

Information received by this publication indicated that three females, who arrived in St. Kitts at about 11:00 p.m. aboard LIAT’s 526 flight from Antigua, were subjected to a search operation conducted by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Drug Squad.

The women, including their luggage, were searched during the intelligence-led operation which resulted in a whitish substance being found on one of the women’s bodies.

While it is believed that the substance is cocaine, it would have to be tested before such a pronouncement can be officially made. And as for the street value, that is dependent upon the authenticity of the substance as well as its weight.

The woman, SKNVibes understands, was taken into police custody and could face drug-related charges which include importation of a controlled substance.

    Investigations are ongoing.
