BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHILE charges have yet to be laid against a female who was reportedly found carrying a white powdery substance on her person after disembarking a LIAT flight, the authorities have confirmed that it is cocaine.
A press release issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force today (May 2) explained that “A search of arriving luggage and persons at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport by officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise Department on Sunday night (May 01) has resulted in the seizure of a quantity of a white powdery substance confirmed to be Cocaine”.
The communique indicates that one person was arrested and “is assisting the Anti-Drug Unit with the investigation”.
SKNVibes understands that the woman taken into custody is one of three who were searched and that they had returned to the Federation from Antigua on Flight #526.
The release stated that the cocaine package weighed .25 kilograms and has a value of EC$22,275.00
Investigations are continuing.
