Juvenile charged with manslaughter of brother

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE female juvenile accused of stabbing her brother to death has been charged with manslaughter, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has informed.

     

    The incident took place on the evening of April 30 in Sandy Point, where it is alleged that the girl and her older brother – identified by the police in a press release as Kurtnell Richardson - were involved in an altercation during which he was stabbed in the chest. 

    He was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by an Emergency Medical Services unit where he succumbed to his injury).

    Superintendent Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that after the juvenile was charged with manslaughter, she appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 with two sureties and several conditions.

    He said she is to refrain from keeping company with persons of questionable character, to attend the Advanced Vocational Education Centre (AVEC), to remain in her mother’s custody, to receive counselling and a psychiatric evaluation be done, to continue sessions with her probation officer and was placed on curfew from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

    Richardson’s death registers the Federation’s 11th homicide for the year, eight of which took place on St. Kitts.
