GREAT BAY, St. Martin (May 17, 2016)—St. Martin author Fabian Adekunle Badejo will join Trinidad’s storyteller Paul Keens-Dougles, and fresh back from London, England novelist Montague Kobbe to open Anguilla’s Lit Fest on the morning of May 20, according to Badejo’s publisher HNP.

Badejo will present a paper addressing the early bird topic, “Writing Local Culture for Global Readers.”

The annual “Rise and Shine Breakfast Presentation” is intended to stir the festival’s registered participants for the five-day event. “I’m honored to be participating in the Anguilla Lit Fest with the legendary Paul Keens-Douglas and sharing the same platform with him,” said Badejo.

Badejo’s books Claude – A Portrait of Power and Salted Tongues – Modern Literature in St. Martin will be available for the festival. So will his critical essay in Maroon Lives – Tribute to Maurice Bishop & Grenadian Freedom Fighters.

One of Anguilla’s senior poets, Patricia Adams, will participate in the festival’s “Local Literary Landscapes” program on May 21. Adams has also been published by HNP in the book Where I See The Sun – Contemporary Poetry in Anguilla. The island’s writers such as Ivenia Benjamin and Trudy Nixon will take part in the May 21 program.
