BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION concerning the robbery that took place this morning (May 20) at MoneyGram, Shoreline Plaza has finally been released and security footage captured during the incident is being reviewed by the authorities.

SKNVibes understands that gunmen entered the establishment sometime this morning and demanded money.

A press release issued on Money Gram’s behalf indicated that “robbers escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. At the time of the robbery, the staff was preparing to begin operations for the workday”.

It appears, as was suggested in the release, that the security recordings were handed over to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force to see if any clues could be gleaned from them.

“Police are reviewing security tapes, some of which, they hope, might provide clues to the identity of the gunmen. Both gunmen appear to be young ranging in age anywhere between 25 and 30.One was wearing a baseball cap, with a Seattle Mariners logo, white shirt and dark long pants. The second robber wore a cap plus sunshades, sneakers, dark clothing and carried a backpack.”

Notwithstanding the trauma that employees of the establishment may have suffered as a result of the incident, the release explained that full operations have resumed and precautionary measures are being taken.

The release indicated that the public’s assistance is being sought in solving this crime.

“Security images will be released to the media and public, after their review by Police. Both the managers of MoneyGram and the Police are asking anyone who may identify these persons to contact the nearest Police Station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.”

Meanwhile, SKNVibes understands that bandits turned their sights on Gillard’s Gas Station located just opposite the Joseph N. France General Hospital and, while details are not yet available, investigations are being made.
