BASSETRRE, St. Kitts – THE St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s (SKNLP) 84th Convention saw a new executive being installed with the party’s leader, Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas, being returned as the Political Leader of the body for the 28th consecutive year.

With close to three decades at the helm of the party, the former Prime Minister was re-elected during the Business segment of the Convention.

Hundreds of delegates from the eight constituencies across the island were in attendance, participating in both the Public and Business segments of the auspicious event held at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel Conference Room.

Dr. Douglas’ Deputy is the Hon. Asim Martin, who was also the Deputy Prime Minister in the previous administration.

The Chairmanship was retained unopposed by the Hon. Marcella Liburd who is also the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Two.

Also to be released at a later date would be the representatives for the Young Labour and Labour Woman branches of the SKNLP.

The National Executive of the SKNLP also consists of Ambassador Kenny Douglas, Lesleigh Joseph (Lexi Peets), Thamesha Fyfield and the Party’s auditor Frank Farrell has been replaced by Gweneth Byron.
