BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST two days after a successful search operation in the New Road area that realised the find of a .45mm pistol with seven matching rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana, police have removed yet another illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition off the streets of St. Kitts and Nevis.

A police report stated that this recent find was made yesterday morning (May 25) following the execution of a search warrant on a residence in the Ponds Extension area.

The search revealed the find of one 9mm Beretta Pistol and 11 rounds of matching ammunition.

Three persons were reportedly taken into custody and charges are likely to be filed against them upon completion of investigations.

The seizure of these finds bring to 11 the number of illegal firearms and over 127 rounds of assorted ammunition removed from the Federation’s streets for the year.

They also take the number to two illegal pistols and 18 rounds of ammunition seized by the police for this week.

Two men were reportedly taken into custody for these finds but it is not known if charges have since been preferred against them.
