By: National Bank, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (June 10, 2016) – The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited for the fourth consecutive year partnered with the JNF General Hospital in hosting its annual concert held on Saturday, June 4 to raise funds for procuring new equipment for the hospital.  Mrs. Shirna Pemberton, Marketing Manager was on site to hand over a handsome cheque of EC$10,000.00 to Dr. Cameron Wilkinson, Medical Chief of Staff.

In presenting the cheque, Mrs. Pemberton expressed pleasure on behalf of the Bank in being able to contribute to a worthy cause that benefits all citizens from all works of life.  “At National, we continue to play our role in being the best corporate citizen: in this regard we recognize the need for improved healthcare especially in these times where chronic illnesses seem to be increasing. We applaud all those who give, have given and implore all corporate citizens from across the Federation to embrace initiatives such as these to promote health and wellness among our people”.

Dr. Wilkinson expressed gratitude and “sang praises” to National for its outpouring of generosity to the hospital and to the initiative for the fourth consecutive year. He explained that the funds raised would go towards acquiring much needed equipment for the hospital.    In another media house Dr. Wilkinson further stated that “the first concert was at Ma Pau, we had a small crowd, we raised over $10,000 dollars. The second year we had to move to the Marriott because we had standing room only at Ma Pau, we raised $20,000.

In our third year we raised $30,000 dollars and this year we have crossed the $50,000 dollar mark.”  After this year’s concert the hospital would be able to outfit each bed in the recovery room with cardiac monitors as well as install new monitors to the beds in the emergency room and surgical and medical wards.

The annual concert which features medical students of the Windsor University and staff of the J N France General Hospital includes dance, song, drama and poetry.   The acts presented are all intriguing and leave patrons eagerly looking forward to the next concert.

National Bank will continue to exemplify good corporate citizenship!
