Joycelyn Hoyte appointed as an Ordained minister of First Assembly of God Church

    Saturday, June 11, 2016 – Mrs. Joycelyn Hoyte is one of the Territory’s newest Ordained Ministers following her Ordination Service on May 18. The service was held during the 91st District Council of the Assemblies of God at the Calvary Christian Center Ormond Beach Florida from May 16 to May 18.

     

    With a record number of 80 ordination candidates, the sermon and the commissioning of candidates were conducted by District Superintendent Reverend Terry Raburn.

    ‘Pastor Joyce’ as she is affectionately known by her congregation at the First Assembly of God Church, is also serving as Co-Pastor with her husband Reverend Wayne R. Hoyte. She has a heart for people and seeing them develop a relationship with God.

    Mrs. Hoyte said, “It is an honour and an awesome responsibility in the kingdom of God to serve as an Ordained Minister of the Peninsular Florida District of the Assemblies of God. I have a divine mandate from God to preach His Word and the General Council of the Assemblies of God has conferred upon me this honour.”

    She added, “At First Assembly of God, our mission statement is We Build People, therefore one of my goals in this new capacity is to continue to help members of the community to build and strengthen their personal relationship with God, and in so doing, help with the restoration of relationships, particularly those in the family.”

    Mrs. Hoyte said that her heart is for God’s ladies that they will experience a life of victory, power, freedom and joy serving Jesus Christ as Lord. 

    She noted, “We only need to know who we are in Christ and this truth will change our life forever.” 

    Senior Pastor of First Assembly of God, Reverend Wayne R. Hoyte congratulated his wife on the accomplishment stating, “From the time that I met her she had a passionate desire for the Word of God and for teaching God’s people. This fervor and zeal for the Lord has increased and enhanced our ministry as she has served with me over the past twenty one years.” 

    The Senior Pastor added that Mrs. Hoyte’s faithful service in the Kingdom of God is exemplary and her ordination is worthy of recognition. He said, “I look forward to enjoying many more fruitful years of ministry with her and encourage her to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” 

    Mrs. Hoyte has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters of Arts Degree in Biblical Counselling from Masters International University, Indiana. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Biblical Studies (Biblical Counselling) also from Masters International University.

    In addition to her role as Co-Pastor, Mrs. Hoyte is a member of the International Association of Biblical Counsellors, and the host of the Radio Broadcast ‘Family Life’ on ZKING 100.9 FM. The programme is  broadcast on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Hoyte is an employee of the National Bank of the Virgin Islands Limited and she is the daughter of Mrs. Esmie Stoutt and the late Honourable Prince Stoutt. Mrs. Hoyte is also the proud mother of three children – Gabrielle, Brent and Charis.

    First Assembly of God Church is located in Lower Estate, Tortola. Services are held on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. with family Sunday School Hour at 9:30 a.m., and bible study at 6:00 p.m. Prayer Meeting is held on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and there are regularly scheduled Men’s Women’s and Youth Meetings.
