Caribbean Cable & Telecommunications Assoc. gives $1,400 to local agency through The Cable

By: The Cable, Press Release

June 15, 2016 – Through the generosity of the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA), House of Deliverance New Testament Church is the recipient of a $1,400 grant from the association’s 2016 Community Charities Program.  House of Deliverance New Testament Church was formally nominated for the grant by The Cable, a member of the CCTA and the cable and telecommunications provider for St. Kitts.

House of Deliverance was chosen as a grant recipient because of the outstanding service and assistance it provides to the community. The check for $1,400 was presented by Mrs. Lornlia Matthew, Marketing Manager of The Cable, on Wednesday, June 15 2016.  She remarked, "Social groups are normally the beneficiaries of donations, but we are happy that this year The Cable and CCTA are able to assist a religious group with their outreach programs".

The CCTA’s Community Charities Program, established in 1993, has awarded over $281,000 to Caribbean charities during its existence. The program was set up with the intention of distributing approximately $10,000 per year to deserving non-profit organizations in the region.  Seven charities were selected for 2016 grants.

The worthy recipients were nominated by the following cable and telecommunications operators:  Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation of Barbados; Innovative Cable TV of St. Croix; Innovative Cable TV of St. Thomas-St. John; Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico; St. Maarten Cable TV; The Cable of St. Kitts; and TV Distribution Systems N.V. of Curacao.  Formed in 1983, the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association represents cable and telecommunications providers throughout the Caribbean, and the programmers, software and hardware suppliers that support their operations.
