By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BRING your rags, your flags, your waistline and comfortable shoes tonight (Jun. 23) to the opening of the 20th annual St. Kitts Music Festival, where artistes are promising high-impact, energetic, entertaining and powerful performances.

Dubbed ‘De Jump Up Night’, the Thursday night brings together a mix of Soca and other artistes from across the region, which give patrons an up-tempo and memorable experience.

Slated to perform at this evening’s event are El Mayor Clasico, Bacchanalist Crew, LAX, Shanna, Nicha B, K-Jah, KES and the Band, Nu Vybes Band International, Small Axe Band International, the Original Burning Flames and The Original Bouyon Pioneers (former members of WCK).

At a press conference held this morning at the SKY Lounge in the St. Kitts Marriott, the artistes were represented and, just as fans are anticipating a great experience, the artistes have expressed that that would be delivered.

“We are here to establish a good relationship. Bring your shoes, bring your rags and bring your sweat, because it’s going to be real hot. So if you don’t have energy, I ask you to go get some rest because tonight we’re going to be jumping with you, we’re going to be moving with you. My guys are ready, we are prepared. Bring our pots, bring your pants…Bouyon is about to be cooked,” a representative of the Bouyon Pioneers said.

LAX promised a “high-energy” performance and indicated that patrons should ensure they do not miss the show.

The Nu Vybes Band International’s representative simply said fans should “expect something dynamic” from that group and other performers.

The Small Axe Band’s representative promised that with rags and flags waving, the Band would “be doing things in a big way”.

“Where there are flames there is fire” and the Original Burning Flames is expected to turn up the heat this evening.

Minister of Tourism the Hon. Lindsay F. Grant was also at the press conference and promised that he would be “jumping up” and enjoying himself this evening.

The show would be held at Warner Park and begins at 8:00 p.m.
