SKNOC Launches New and Improved Website on eve of Rio 2016

    Basseterre, 4 July 2016: The St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) has unveiled its new official website on the eve of the 2016 Rio Olympics. Sknoc.org  has been re-designed to promote the work of the SKNOC and allow the organisation to communicate better with its affiliate sporting organisations, the public and sportsmen and women in the Federation, including Team SKN.   

     

    The revamped site offers quick and easy access to major news stories and announcements released by SKNOC with enhanced features including a brand new Home Page and new Photos Page of past and present Olympic images.  The site also features the full Olympic Schedule for Rio 2016, allowing fans to keep updated on the major sporting events.
     
    Alphonso Bridgewater, President of the SKNOC, said “Sport plays a leading role in the Federation and in anticipation of Rio 2016, the new website will serve as an important resource for regular updates from the Games, while offering a platform for the nation to embrace and support our athletes. We hope very much that the new site will also provide a useful resource for aspiring youngsters to follow in the footsteps of their national heroes.”
     
    The new website, Sknoc.org, will be updated on a regular basis with news and updates of Team SKN and of key milestones leading up to and during Rio 2016 with Twitter and Facebook.com providing all the up to the minute news and excitement in real time. 
     
    About the SKNOC
    The St. Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee (SKNOC) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental sporting organization governed by a nine member executive whose current President is Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater and Secretary General is Mr. Glenville Jeffers. The remaining current Executive Members are made up of the follow positions: Vice President; Assistant Secretary General; Treasurer and four (4) Members. 
     
    The St. Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee was officially recognized by the IOC on 24th September 1993 and in 2013 celebrated its 20th anniversary of affiliation to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). 
     
    Sporting organisations affiliated to SKNOC include the St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA), St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association (SKABA), St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA), St. Kitts-Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA), St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Volleyball Association (SKAVA) and St. Kitts Netball Association (SKNA).
