Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 18, 2016 (RSCNPF): As the Police Recruit Training Class #40 prepares for graduation on Tuesday (July 19), Police Constable Kristal Bailey is ready to serve, and says she is motivated by a desire to help others.
Bailey a resident of Shadwell, is one of nine female officers in the class and said the training process was challenging at times, but also very interesting and exciting. She said, having to get up very early every day and the long days was her biggest adjustment.
Constable Bailey said, she is also inspired by the accomplishments of ACP Hughes (the first female Assistant Commissioner of Police), "because it shows how far a woman can reach in the Police Service" and added, "there are no barriers there, and that opportunities are available for women in the Police Force."
When asked where she would like to serve, Bailey said, "I would work anywhere, whether it's on the beat, an out station, or any other position where I can apply my training, inspire others and make a positive difference to people's lives.... anywhere."
With a big smile, Bailey said, she is really looking forward to seeing her family on Tuesday.
