Training in the area of Competency Based Educational Training (CBET), which allows teachers in the technical area to teach in a different methodology, rather the ‘stand and lecture’ that can not apply to TVET.”
Representative from the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. Martin Baptiste commended the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis for the successful planning and implementation of this project as well as the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework, without which the workshop would not have been possible. “This project is very timely because it builds on what already has been happening here in St. Kitts and Nevis, where TVET is now part of the main educational system and the intent is to make sure that it is mainstream so persons that leave the education system; those in industries and those employed have opportunities to upgrade their skills and be able to compete for jobs in the public and private sectors but also to be involved in entrepreneurship.”
The infrastructural improvement and development which are being considered under the enhancement project will include the construction of Workshop Extension at CFBC, construction of an ICT Lab, TVET multi-purpose workshops, a classroom block at AVEC and a SMART classroom linked with the Multi-Purpose Center on Nevis.
