Man shot in St. Johnston Village

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST two days after the incident in Newton that left two teenagers nursing gunshot wounds, another man was shot this morning (Jul. 21) in St. Johnston Village.

    Information reaching SKNVibes states that Vernon Elliott of St. Johnson Village was rushed to the JNF General Hospital after being shot multiple times by an unknown assailant(s).

    Reportedly, the incident occurred at about 9:45 a.m. at a street close to the Traffic Department in St. Johnston Village.

    This incident comes on the heels of a shooting incident that occurred at about 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Jul. 19) in the vicinity of Mad House Alley in Newtown, which resulted in 19-year-old Shivorn Smith of Ponds Pasture and 18-year-old Derrick Hendrickson of Newtown being shot in their legs by an unknown assailant(s).

    Both scenes were canvassed by investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as well as technicians from the Forensic Services Unit.

    The police are asking anyone who might have information leading to the apprehension of the assailants in the two incidents to contact the VCU at 467-1886, 467-1887 or 467-1888; or the CID at 465-2241, ext. 220 or 231; the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
