Two killed, three wounded in McKnight shootings

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A shooting incident earlier tonight (Jul. 21) has left two men dead and three others wounded.

     

     

     


    Reports reaching SKNVibes give the names of the two men killed as Cleon Gilbert of Lower Cayon and Kyle Allen of Central Thibou Avenue.

    The names of those wounded were given as Omax Bye of Fort Thomas Road, Kevis Cotton of Upper College Street and Vance Nisbett of Thibou Avenue.

    The shooting incident reportedly occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Upper Thibou Avenue, McKnight in proximity of Ambassador Jonel Powell’s Constituency Office.

    This incident has taken to 19 the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year.

    A press release states that this incident is being investigated by members of the Violen Crimes Unit.

    It also states that the Assistant Commissioner of Police with Responsibility for the Crime Directorate, Andre Mitchell, is calling on members of the public to assist the police in their fight against crime by providing information on this crime or any criminal activity they may be aware of.  

    ACP Mitchell is encouraging citizens to call any police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS) with the information.
