Rumour of man’s lifeless body found is a hoax…Police official

Superintendent Cromwell Henry
By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kits – WITH the circulation of a rumour that the lifeless body of a young man was found somewhere near the C.A. Paul South Industrial Park, a senior member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said their investigations revealed that there is no truth in it.

Yesterday afternoon (Jul. 28), SKNVibes received numerous reports that the body – supposedly that of a young man who was missing since Monday (Jul. 25) - was discovered in the vicinity of the TDC Home and Building Depot.

However, Commander of District ‘A’ Superintendent Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that no official report to that effect was made to the Police Force.

He said the police also caught wind of the rumour and, in an effort to substantiate or refute it, they conducted a search of the area and were unable to provide confirmation.

The Superintendent however indicated that the police did receive report of a young man who has been missing since Monday.

This recent hoax, as expressed by many, serves only to strike fear into the hearts of the people of the Federation and even waste the resources of the security forces.

It is suggested that, if possible, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force should conduct an investigation to learn who had started the rumour and take action against the perpetrator.
