BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FOLLOWING last evening’s (Aug. 3) game between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Jamaica Tallawahs that saw several interruptions due to rain, the same is expected this evening when the other playoff match bowls off.
According to the Met Office, a tropical wave is passing over the Federation, and has brought with it, thunderstorms.
However, that would not put a dent in the partying that is expected throughout the evening as the rains have subsided and the teams are prepared and ready to go.
With the action bowling off at 7:00 this evening, both the Trinbago Knight Riders and the St. Lucia Zouks will be looking for a victory in the elimination game at Warner Park.
Unlike last evening’s match-up that saw the Tallawahs going down to the Warriors while remaining in the playoffs, the loser of this encounter will be eliminated and the winner progress.
Addressing the media at a press conference yesterday (Aug. 3) at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, Knight Riders captain, Dwayne Bravo said his team is excited to be back in the finals, adding that it is a great opportunity to return to St. Kitts and Nevis this year, since they had no fixtures scheduled for the earlier rounds.
“I am happy with the team and the progress as well.”
Zouks senior batsman Michael Hussey said his team is currently relaxed and has been playing good cricket as of late, and they are expecting a tough game but they believe they can fight through it.
“...We have got some brilliant players, some brilliant T20 players who are very dangerous in this competition as well and so I think it is going to be a very fantastic match.”
Match cricket pundits have said this would be an exciting game since both teams are evenly matched in all departments.
The Zouks and the Knight Riders finished third and fourth on the points table respectively.
