St Paul’s Community Hosts Football League

    St Paul’s Community Football League (August 5th, 2016) –The St Paul’s village came alive over the weekend with the hosting of a number of exciting football matches. The matches were held as part of a football league being organized by members of the community. 

     

    The league kicked off on Saturday, 30th July, 2016 at the old recreation ground with scores of football lovers on hand to support their favourite teams. Eight teams, five from St. Paul’s and one each from neighboring communities Newton Ground, Dieppe Bay and Saddlers are all playing to win bragging rights and  the trophy. 

    Names of the teams are: 
     
    Breadfruit All-stars
     
    Willet’s United
     
    Positive Vybz
     
    Togetherness United
     
    Movements
     
    Dieppe Bay
     
    Saddlers 
     
    Newtown Ground

    President of the league, Mr. Shavon Douglas said that the community football league is being organized to help to revive community spirit and spread positivity throughout the village. 

    Points standing as of August 2nd are:

    Breadfruit All-stars 3
     
    Willet’s United         3
     
    Positive Vybz 3
     
    Togetherness United 4
     
    Movements 6
     
    Dieppe Bay 0
     
    Saddlers         0
     
    Newtown Ground 0

    The action continues tomorrow, August 6th and everyone is invited to come and see some of the best footballers in St Kitts and Nevis play against each other. Musical Entertainment will be provided and food and drinks will be on sale. 

    The league is expected to run until 30th August, 2016.
