(PAM COMS) 10th July- The People’s Action Movement hosted a very successful special caucus and convention on 9th June 2016.
The event opened with the bi election for deputy leader the candidates were Jonel Powell of constituency #2, Vernon Connor of constituency #6 and the Hon. Eugene Hamilton of constituency #8. After the votes were tallied the membership elected both Mr.Jonel Powell and Hon.Eugene Hamilton as co-deputy leaders of the People’s Action Movement.
After the Caucus and Elections the attendees were addressed then by chairperson of the party Mr. Valentine Lindsay, who updated the gathering on matters pertaining to the present state and future outlook of P.A.M.
The leader of the People’s Action movement the Honourable Shawn Richards then gave words of commendation to all three candidates and took time to commend Mr.Vernon Connor for his exceptional spirit and good will. He spoke on how proud he was that democracy was alive and well within the party.
The Hon.Shawn Richards then opened the floor to the audience for questions and comments as he started to address matters pertaining to governance within the country and party. Questions were also fielded by other members of the cabinet who were in attendance including the Hon. Ian Liburd and the Hon. Vincent Byron.
