BASSETERRE, St. Kitts  - THE Federation’s team leader at the Olympic Games, Antoine Adams, will be looking to keep the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis fluttering when he competes in the Heats of the Men’s 200m this morning (Aug. 16).

This is the final individual event that the team from St. Kitts and Nevis will be competing in at the Games, and Adams will look to bring smiles to the faces of those back home, by qualifying for the Finals.

The team has had disappointing spells on the track after he and Brijesh Lawrence failed to make it out of their respective Heats in the 100m over the weekend.

But, Adams would be looking to turn the tides in this the longer of the two sprint events, where he is expected to be a factor.

The only bright spot at the games thus far, for team St. Kitts and Nevis, was when legendary sprinter Kim Collins qualified for the semi-finals 100m sprint. He then failed to make it to the championship round after finishing sixth.

Adams, who carried the flag at the opening ceremony, will lineup in Heat 10 of the opening round of the sprint, which is expected to be on the track at approximately 11:53am.

Meanwhile, the lone female on the team, Tameka Williams, failed to qualify from her opening Heat of the Women’s 200m yesterday.

Running in the final Heat of the 200m qualifying round, Williams could only register a disappointing sixth place with a time of 23.61s.
