Police Press Release 25-08-2016: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 25, 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 24.

     

    ARREST AND BAIL:
    Arrested: Rionelle Nisbett of Lower Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny.  The offence was committed between 13 and 14 August 2016 in Bird Rock where property of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis (St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force) to wit one (1) M4 Riffle was stolen.  The riffle has been recovered. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Albert Millington of Lamberts was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Robbery committed on 22nd August 2016.  Bailed: He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 and ordered to appear at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court in District 'B' on September 8, 2016. 
     
    Bailed: Audington Syder was granted bail in the sum of $2,500.00. With conditions that he should report to the Basseterre Police Station every Friday 6am-6pm and to surrender his passport. Next Court Date is set for  September 8, 2016.
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS:
    None to report.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of Building Breaking and Larceny at a business on Thibou Ave. Inquiries revealed that the operators secured the office at about 5.00pm on August 23, and on return at about 8.15am on August 24 discovered it broken into. Having entered they ransacked the reception area and removed several items.  The scene was processed the Crime Scene Unit. Further inquiries to be conducted 
     
    Robbery: Police is investigating a report of robbery that occurred about 8.57pm on August 24,   at a business located at Water Works Cayon.  Investigations revealed that two (2) armed assailants entered and robbed the business of an undisclosed sum of money. Crime Scene investigators have processed the scene.  Investigation is ongoing. 
     
    Traffic Accident: There were two (2) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during the period of this report.
     
    Citizen Safety:  Officers continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points, stop and searches and searches of abandoned properties and lots.  These are being done in efforts to rid our communities of illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used in criminal activity.  
     
    Community Engagement: Officers of the Old Road Police Station and the Charlestown Police Station were out in the communities on Wednesday greeting and meeting with area residents.
