Police Press Release 29-08-2016: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 29, 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 25-28.

     

    ARREST AND BAIL:
    Arrested: Mackebo Fahie of Greenland was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to supply to another.  Bailed: He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000.00 for his appearance at Basseterre Magistrate Court on the September 9th 2016 at 09:00 in the forenoon. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Ifeanyi J. Ezeli of Buckleys Site Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of driving while not covered with insurance Bailed: Ifeanyi Ezli was granted bail in the sum of $3,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 1st of September, 2016 at 09:00  in the forenoon.
     
    Arrested: Evrol Daniel of Butlers Village, Nevis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of wounding with intent committed on the 15th August, 2016 at Butlers Village, Nevis.  
     
    Bailed:  Kendel Hamilton of Lover's lane Cayon who was arrested and formally charged for the offence of battery. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 for his appearance September 5th 2016, at 9:00 in the forenoon. 
     
    Remand: Ronielle Nisbette of Lower Cayon who was arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the offence of larceny of a M4 Rifle was remanded at the HM Prison on August 26, 2016. 
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS:
    None to report
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    Burglary:-  Police is investigating a report of burglary in the Sunrise Hills Villa area of Half Moon Bay.  The VC reports the house was secured at about 1.30am on August 26, 2016 and went to sleep, leaving everything intact. Upon waking around 5.00am the VC observed the  front door ajar and a number of items missing from the home. The scene was processed the Crime Scene unit. Further Inquires to continue. 
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers from the Dieppe Bay Police Station reported that as a result of information received, a search was conducted of a lot in the Willets Project area found One Hundred And Thirty Seven (137) Marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to four feet in height.  The Plants were uprooted and seized by the Police. .
     
    Search Warrant Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants over the period of this report. The warrants were executed in Sandy point, Newton Ground, Golf View Estate and Ocean Garden Camps.  
     
    Traffic Accident: there were five (5) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on August 25, 2016. One (1) Traffic Accident occurred on the federation’s roadways in Nevis the August 26, 2016. Seven (7) Traffic Accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways (6) six in St. Kitts and (1) in Nevis on  August 27, 2016.  Two (2) Traffic Accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during August 26, 2016.  One accident resulted in a fatality. 

    A total of 15 traffic accidents occurred during the period of this report. 
     
    Community Engagement: Officers conducted a community walk through in the New Roads area.  The officers interacted with residents and took note of their concerns.  
     
    Citizen Safety:  Police continues to conduct mobile patrols, stop and searches, searches of abandoned properties all in efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, drugs and other instruments used to in criminal activity.  Over the weekend, several search warrants were executed and resulted in the recovery of several items believed to be stolen.  Five persons are in custody.
